14th Annual Autism Run

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”—Helen Keller

“Our theme this year for the AUT2RUN is,” according to Ashley Pope, who is on the Board of Directors for the Ventura County Autism Society, “’Together We Shine.’ This is our annual fundraiser, and annual resource fair, which is Southern California’s largest Autism resource fair. The resource fair is free to attend. The registration fees for the different walks; runs; rolls (for those using a wheelchair); and/or, virtual participation varies. Please look at the website at:www.AUT2run.org regarding how to register for the event.”

Pope continued, by saying, “I got involved with the Autism Society of Ventura County eight years ago, because I have a son who has autism. He was 5 years old when I initially got involved. I was seeking community support, and to learn from other parents who had kids with autism. I was impressed to find a variety of programs, which includes: game days for adults at Zanders Games in Camarillo, a book club, family days in the park, and weekly sensory play groups for little ones in both Camarillo & Port Hueneme.

To find out more about the various activities throughout the county, go to:  www.autismventura.org, or call the Ventura County office at: 805-496-1632.”

There will be a 15K, a 10K, a 5K, a 1 Mile, a Fun K (for children under age 12 and for adults with special needs and their caregivers), and a Virtual Run/Walk. 100% of the proceeds go directly towards fulfilling Autism Society of Ventura County’s mission of creating connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully, and for those individuals within the autism spectrum and their families to be fully included members of the community through education, advocacy, and a variety of programs. ASVC is a 501 (C) 3 Nonprofit.

Register for this fun event of the Aut2Run at: www.aut2run.org, while supporting an important cause to benefit those with autism, and to educate others that we are all more similar than different.
